People often feel this sense of emptiness when they feel they are missing something. Like growing up without out their fathers or being a banded their mother at a young age. These are just two examples of the many that can make a person feel empty. When people have this feeling of emptiness they look for ways to feel they whole. Like when a girl grow up without her dad she looks for a boyfriend to play the daddy role. So that she can feel the love from a man that she never felt before. On the other hand when a boy grow up has without a father they often grow up doing bad things, because they say they had no one to show them how to do the right thing. It’s often been shown that when a girl grow up without their mother , when they have kids they are likely to a band their kids. Then there will be another kid out there with a sense of emptiness looking for away to feel what they think is missing . Other than trying to find what they are missing in other people, people shop to make them self feel better. I feel that humans do have this over whelming feel of emptiness, they often find something that makes them happy and right after they get it they are looking for something else. I don’t think is done on purpose but it just a part of our human nature. I feel that ever human feel a little bit of emptiness so we are always looking for something to full that whole. So we shop , look for love , and for people to play roles of the people we are missing in their life. People that feel emptiness sometime have kids to be able to get the love form the kid that’s they never felt before , or to get the feel that someone else is depending on them . Emptiness is a feel that comes from within , when a person feels that something is missing from their life. They try to fix it but it’s a feeling may keeping coming back and only go away for a short period of time .

Should advertising to young people be banned? Up to what age? Or all ages?

No I dont not think advertising to young people should be banned, because I think it would be just a wast of time. I think it would be a wast of time becasue if most young people do not have one thing to follow they look or the next. The video showed a large group waiting on line outside of a concert they had there face painted like they no the mebers of the group would have they face painted, that day most people looked alike and was acting a like, they did a lot out yelling and acted in what looked liike rebelous actions. One they video showed how the group acted when they was one stage everthing they fans were doing became moer clear. The group mebers were throughing things around the stage, they were yelling and they were jumping off of thing. This proved to me that most young follow what ever they think is cool .

so i guess what im trying to say is that, if they stop playing Ipod commericals every time i new ipod came out, yes there would be less people buying a new ipod becuase they would be less awear that a new one came out or what its able to do. So the new Ipod wouldnt be as "cool" because a lot of people wouldnt be no about it, bout something that more people no about would be more "cool". As you saw it in the video.

I think the best manipulation techniques to use to make young people more into something is, to show them that one well know person likes is as well. For example Chris Brown did a doublement commerical were he change the words to one of the song that was on his C.D and put doublement in replace for the words he took out . He also dance to the song . The cammerical had everyone talking about it because Chris Brown made a song and a dance about gum so when you want in the store to buy gum you though about the commercial even if you didn' buy the gum. The video also showed this happening were they were trying to get people to drink sprite so the had a basketball player drink it in the commercial, they thought if peopel see they besketball player drink sprite they would want to drink it as well.

When  i  asked  family members, friends, as well  as people  on the street  what  is cool,  I was giving  a lot of the same answers, "cool  is  being different, you  know  doing your own thing and  not caring  what  any one say or think  about you." Since being  different was  a answer  that  came so  much  I asked  a lady  on the the street what dose it mean to  be different? Reading all the stories I noticed that most of them took place In a school. Most people stories I read the person was trying to be cool other just letting every one think they are cool.  Most of them were disrespectful to there peers, or did less then what they were able to do just to show they can be cool or just get be to far them. It was funny to see that many people had the same meaning of cool. It was cool to see that  some people  picked a different for their story, I think they were trying to be cool .

All the stories I read the  main character was a males. I still wonder what makes  people think that males are cooler then females?  Even in my  story the main character  was  a male. Getting out my moms car in Brooklyn for the first day of school, my head is full of bullshit. "I'm not going to fit in around here, They going to be able to tell i'm from uptown, because my swagg is different. It's whatever i'm coming here to play ball, and my game need to be on point, because they letting me in this school for free I have to show them that they not wasting there money". My mom leand over and gave me a kiss of ma head "enjoy your day " you to i said i got out the car and she pulled off.

As i walked into the class room i saw everyone head turn and look at me. You must be the new student the teacher says as she walks over to me. "Yea, i'm Dayshawn" I say, Well Dayshawn you can sit right here in front. "Iight" i say as i make my way to the front of the room. I hate sitting in the front but dame i dont mind because, this has to be the best looking teacher i have every seen. Big pretty brown eyes, hiar to the middle of her back, lips just the right size, cute little noise, and hips just the right size, i would love to see her bend over right in front of me.

It seem like class want to fast. Before I konw it class was over and I was heading to my locker , as i opened my locker to change the books i need for my two classes. As I closed my locker two girls walked up, they were really cute they was wearing skinny jeans and fited T-shirts with some thing on it. With some cute shoes, I love when girls wear shoes i thought to myslef. "I like your shirt" the first girls said "thank you" I replyed. "You the new boy right" the other one said. " yea", "you cute and you play ball right". I say yea but i was wondering how they know this. "thats cool well my name is Keyisha and this is my home girl Toney and if you want yu can eat luch with use". I'm Dayshawn and eatting lunch with yall sounds cool. "iight so come on".

Sitting with keyisha and Toney was cool they had a lot of friends mostly girls coming over and asking me if i was the new boy and telling me i was cute, they also told me that they were goin to enjoy me sitting with them for as long has i can because they know when i meet the team they know i'm not goin to sit with them any more . I told them the never no because i might enjoy sitting with a tald full of ladys over then sitting with an table full of guys. As lunch ended Keyisah and Toney walked me back to class and told me that they thought i was really cool because i was cute but i didn't act stuck up like i know i was cute. they said i was down to earth and layed back we exchanged numbers and agreed that we were friend and we can all chill some times.

One  of the biggest questions I have about cool  is if  cool  and being know  the same thing? Being  know  mean when you  walk  down  the  hallways of your school or the  block you live and everybody  know who your are. Being cool  is  when  everybody  know who  you are and  they  want  yo be friends with  you as well. 

I don't really  know  what  it means  to  be  cool or uncool, because I think  people  see cool  different ways. What  maybe  cool  to me may not  be  cool  to  the  next person,  i can  start to  get to know some  one  and  think  they  are  the  coolest  person  i  know  but  when  another  friend of mines start to get  to know  them  they  will think  the  are lame  and  uncool. 

I have a really connection to  this happening  to me  in  the  past.  When  i  was was a freshmen i  thought this  boy that  was in  the  11th grad was the  coolest person i  have ever know, i had the  biggest crush on him. All  of my  friends  thought he was  lame  and  didn't understand  why  i liked  him so much . I got to know him  and  he  was kind of cool  but  he wasn't what  i  have  made  him out to be. He was a  cool person to hang out with  some  time  but  not all the time. This just  goes  to show  that  people  have  different ideas of what's cool  and  what isn't. It also shows that  peoples of ideas  of cool can  change over time or  once they  get to know a person.

some insights that have flashed into my mind about cool is, what makes a person think something is cool and  if there is a real way  to  say something is  cool  or not. To me  some one  is  cool when they  are being themselves.  when they dear to be different to stand out  and  do  what makes them happy. when they  live for themselves in stead of of the  be around them, because  today a lot  of  people don't  do so  the do thing  that everyone else is  doing .

I think a person  is  cool  when they  don't try to be  cool, people have so many different ideas of cool.

Digitalization
Living in a world taking over by digitalization has many different meaning. It can mean that everything comes so easy; you’re just a click away from goggle. It can also mean that you are clueless of what’s going on in the really world because you live life behind a computer screen. Many people would agree and say that digitalization is bad but they wouldn’t have a reason for why they think so. Many people would also say that digitalization have a negative effect on teenagers , they would point out the fact that many teenagers spend a lot of free time on social networks such as MySpace, facebook or even twitter , staying connected to their friends other then getting out and interacting with them. People also say digitalization is bad because children and teenagers would often choose it over reading a book or writing a story. When student were asked what they would rather do read books, do home work or play videogames and spend time on the computer. More the half of them said they would rather spend time playing videogames and on the computer, because they spend so much time in school do work on the weekends and after school they just want to “chill” and get away from school. One student said “when I get home the first thing I do is turn on the computer, more so now than ever because most of our home work have to be done over internet, but I’m not going to front the first thing I do isn’t home work I go on Facebook or twitter or whatever and just do my home work when it start to get late or it get really bored”. This quote was said by one student but I know she isn’t the only person that feel s this why. When you ask the question what people think about digitalization you get the same two answers “it’s bad because people use it to much” or “it’s good because it make thing easier “. When you ask that question people never take the time to really think before they answer it , they don’t take a minute to think how digitalization affect them , or to think how can it help them or not or take the time to ask themselves how much time they spend using it and if they think they should cut down . Digitalization plays a major role in our society today, and affects many people. The addiction, staying connected as well as social networking are the reason digitalization is such a major part of our lives.
People spending so many hours a day watching T.V and web surfing, the part that seem interesting to me is that people can just sit for hours and look at one show or be log into one social network. The question I would like answered is what keeps a person interested and coming back for more? The answer is addiction. People can sit on MySpace or Facebook for hours, sometime they would not eat or go use the bathroom because they do want to get off the computer, People go out for the day but before they go they must get on MySpace or Facebook and when they come back no matter how late it is they would not be able to sleep without going on again, they are addicted and most of the time they don’t know they are or even why. Networks aren’t the only thing about digitalization that makes people addicted, also thing like on line shopping. Why go to the stores were you would have to look through the everything to find something you want with the chance you might not find anything at all, when you can just sit at our desktop or laptop and just press next till you find the things you want . If you don’t find anything on one sight all you have to do is go to the next one, It just so much easier. I believe people get very addicted to digitalization because to makes everything easier, people think why they should take the hard way out when everything you need is just a mouse click away.
Digitalization is great when it comes to keeping people connected, today there are so many way to get in contact with other people. Cell phones, instant messaging, text messaging and the list can go on. Staying connected is one of the biggest reasons that most people are addicted to internet . Internet chatting make it so that you can talk to more than person at a time , and you can also be doing other things on the computer. People often like staying connected over instant or text messaging because it less personal , people find it easier to express their feeling in a texts message or over aim rather then talking in person or over the phone. “Kids are not learning to converse with people directly. Texting enables people to avoid face-to-face confrontation. The worst stories I have heard is someone being fired and dumped over a text message. One girl got fired over a text message, and since she didn’t have text messaging, she paid 40 cents to get fired. People like to often say things over text messaging so it won’t become awkord between them and the person their talking to. Using Digitalization to stay connected also has its down falls. People spend less time going out or spend time with their friends and family, because they are giving other ways to be able to check on the m. Another reason why staying connect over digitalization isn’t always great because message can get crossed, meaning you can say something meaning it one way but since the other person can here the way you said they can take differently . That can start big problems and turn into a big miss understanding.
Why do people use social networks? Can’t they just go hang out with their friends or call them on the phone or even text them ? But why limited yourself to talking to one or two people at a time when you can go on Facebook or Twitter and talk to as many people as you want to ? That is the outlook that a lot of people today have on social networking . older people would blame it on teenagers for spending so much time on the networks , but most peoples parents and grandparents are sign up to the networks as well. People sign up to these network to keep others posted on what’s going on in their life’s by putting up pictures of what they did that weekend and so on or to make them self feel important when they see that they have over 5000 followers on twitter . Social networks start out as just good fun for most people but once they start spending time on the network and seeing what it can do, it starts to become more of a life style for many people. People put up a lot of information about them self on social networks, such as their full names, date of birth , were they live as well as attend school and things they enjoy doing. Most people will agree and say that’s not the safest thing to do because just how you are already friends or at least know the people you are friends with on their social networks there are also the people that you don’t know that you are also friends with. By you telling on your information you are making it easy for them to find you. “ The Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported more than 2,600 incidents last year of adults using the Internet to entice children. With numbers like that, you'd think all parents would be hovering over their kids, wanting to know what they're doing online. This quote proves that just how great social networking can be for keeping you connected to your friends and family . It can be just as dangerous , and that’s we many adults don’t want their kids to have MySpace or facebook pages . Most children go behind their parents back and sign up for MySpace or facebook , because all they are thinking about is how their friends have one and they don’t want to feel left out. They don’t think about the danger they may be putting their self in. Social networking isn’t all bad but it isn’t all good as long as you are aware of what’s going on.
This paper is important because it is warring people of the ups and downs of digitalization. This paper is trying to make them think deeper about digitalization and the affect it has on our society so that when their asked about digitalization their answers aren’t limited to it good or bad they will be able to think and say why they think is good or bad they will also be able to list the pros and cons about it. Although this paper is mostly talking about computers and internet use, digitalization is so much more than that and we are surround it by it every day. Most people have cell phones, T.V, computers, rodeos and so much more. Even living in the city, when you go out to 42nd all the lights and images showing on the big bright screens are digitalization.We are living in a society where we cannot escape digitalization, so we just have to learn how to live with it. We can control how much we use it and how much time we put into do other things.
The connection I would like to make to this paper is a self to text connection, before taking this class and writing this paper my thought about digitalization were very limited. I was always on the internet and didn’t find it to be a big deal. If somebody was to ask me at the beginning how I felt about digitalization I would have be like it’s a great thing when I need something to do and when I need to find out information its always here for me , but I wouldn’t be able to answer with a very deep answer. Before I never took the time to think about how much time I spent using it or if I would be able to live without it or not. I’m not going to front like since I started learning about digitalization, I stop using it or I even cute down the time I spent using it because I have not . The only difference is that know when I use the internet I think about it more. The question we ask each other in class come to my mind, why I’m I so addicted ? why do I care what people posted on my wall or said about my picture ? I feel like I care so much because it keeps me in the circle of knowing what is going on with my friends when we aren’t together. I learned so much through this unite and even though I didn’t stop or cut down on ma internet use is mad me very aware.

The reading was about video games vs. reading books. It says that people that read books are more likely to get out and do different things. such as going to different sport games, shows and are just more opened minded to different things that people who read less aren't open to. It also say that people who start there kids out reading when they are younger they are very likely to grow up to be people who read a lot and on there own time not just when they have to, and they will be good at it and enjoy it very much .

Even though the reading made it seem like reading is much better then playing video games. There was a few good points made about playing video games . It was said that video games were good because they help you work on using your hand and eye at the same time. But they did point out the fact that videos are played way more then books are read, and that video games were out for way longer then books.
I don't read unless i have to but at the same time i dont play video games eaither, but i do use the computer as well as the phone way more then i read. The reading says that reading books is some thing you do alone therefor you are in your own place and isn't interacting with anyone but yourself. On the other hand when you are on the computer the phone or playing a video you are interacking with some thing , and that makes me belive thats why people enjoy it the most .

He used an allegory to talk about some thing going on today, to make people say thats crazy because they are outsiders looking in not knowing that the book is really talking about tennagers to day. A familiar plot is the real world today. Even though I don't think everything said in feed was right on it did relate to the plot in feed related to the real world. The tragedy of the feed breaking it like if internet just stop working he was trying to say we wouldn't be able to live with out it and i think it would be different but we will be able to live with out it.

On this website a teacher starts to talk about why he thinks facebook is addicting, he talks about the the different up dates . I think he was saying that it can be addicting because it keeps people intoned and let others no whats going on. You just go get on the computer and sign on to myspace,facebook or twitter and you are good , then if i tell you to get of the computer you get off and go on the same websits on your phone or you talk on aim, BBm or you text. Now of days thats what the phones are mad for you to do . You guys are lucky, but i'm not sure if all thr digutal stuff is a good or bad thing.

I think she answered wonderful, she just didn't say or it's very bad the answer that everyone have been giving she kind of did'nt answer at all but she talked about what she did know and how time haved change.

Home work #3

People spending so many hours a day  watching T.V and web surfing, the  part that  seem interesting to me is that people can just sit for hours and look at one show or  be log into one social network. The question  i  would like  answered is what keeps  a  person interested and coming  back for more? I'm interested to learn the answer to  this question because i am also the type of person that can sit on  myspace or  facebook for hours, sometime i  won't eat or  go use the bathroom because I don't want to get off  the computer, i  will  also  go out  for the day  but  i  had tho  get  on myspace or facebook before and go out  as well has  when i  come back  no  matter what  time it was. I was addicted and I don't  know what it was that made me  so addicted.    

The  good part about the web is  you can be connected to what's going  on  in  the  world, your community,  the media and  well  as  your group of friends. when I log on to A.O.L the first  thing  that pops up is  the  news. It  shows  you  the highlights in the  news  for  that  day  and i feel like thats a very good thing is keeping me connected to the  rest  of the world. It  can  also  keep  me  very  connected to  my  small group of  friends because of  the social networks  like myspace  and facebook .

  

The bad  part  can be  that people just  stay  on the web or in  front of the T.V all day  and  don't make  time for  anything else, they  let  the  web and  T.V take  over  there lives. I  find  it  a little  wried that people can get so  addicted  to  the  web or T.V and  even video games  and  that  leads  me  back  to  my  question  what  about  it  makes  people  so addicted?
